Welcome to the PHSChat Wikipedia - A Wiki for USPHS Officers

Contents

What is a Wiki?

The majority of tools that exist to publish content on the Internet are either one-to-many (e.g. personal websites, blogs, news sites) or short-lived (forums / message boards, FAQs, etc.). Wikis give groups the freedom to publish pages that are long-lived, regularly updated, and built by many contributors. We give you the space to both publish and discuss content, without tangling the two together.

Why a Wiki for USPHS Officers?

You're probably familiar with the USPHS site on Wikipedia. PHSChat Wiki helps all officers to cross-link information and create a knowledge base on a wide range of specific topics.

Why create and edit Wiki pages?

When creating wiki pages, information is maintained collectively instead of by individual effort, resulting in less duplication of effort, more information in one place, and a common format. Instead of duplicative effort, links to wiki pages can provided on websites.
