PHSChat Forums Terms of Use

The purpose of this website is to serve as an unofficial forum for USPHS Officers and external partners to exchange and post information, express contructive opinions, make contructive comments and otherwise communicate contructively about the USPHS.

PHSChat is available for your use on this website subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this document. By accessing this website and the Discussion Forums contained herein, you agree to the Terms of Use. PHSChat may change the Terms of Use at any time.

The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of PHSChat. However, all messages are subject to moderation, and if absolutely necessary, posts will be edited. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to use the infraction feature or report post feature, which notifies the Administrator.  The Administrator (or designated members who are Moderators) has the ability to remove objectionable messages and The Administrator will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if The Administrator determines that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, so please realize that The Administrator may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.

All expenses are paid with private funds, and forum managment is done using personal resources.

You agree, through your use of the Discussion Forums, that you will not post any material which is knowingly confidential or restricted, classified, false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.

You agree, through your use of the Discussion Forums, not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or PHSChat.

You agree, through your use of the Discussion Forums, not to post advertising of any kind in the Forums whether you are a private party or company. The only exceptions to this policy are granted for current PHSChat advertisers and Officers selling items for or through their category or committees/groups.

PHSChat also reserves the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information The Administrator knows about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT WILL PHSChat BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES RELATING TO LOST REVENUES OR PROFITS, LOST DATA, WORK STOPPAGE, COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION) RESULTING FROM OR IN ANY WAY RELATED TO THE USE OF ANY MATERIALS POSTED ON OR MADE AVAILABLE IN THE DISCUSSION FORUMS OR ANY OTHER WEBSITE TO WHICH A LNK IS PROVIDED OR ON WHICH A LINK IS PROVIDED TO THESE DISCUSSION FORUMS, EVEN IF PHSChat.COM HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES AND REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY ON WHICH SUCH DAMAGES ARE BASED.

Deleting Messages

The Administrator (or designated Moderators) reserves the right to disapprove of a message for any reason whatsoever.

Messages, attachments, and comments are typically denied and deleted after review as a result of the following:

  • Profanity in subject lines or signatures, or profanity within messages deemed to be blatant as opposed to incidental
  • Spamming or commercial solicitation
  • Flaming other members with the apparent intent of inciting or perpetuating a conflict or argument
  • Bombing forums or individual threads with repetitive, pointless posts
  • Posting personal e-mail or chat dialogues
  • Posting pornographic or otherwise objectionable material
  • Impersonating other individuals or false representation
  • Discussion of illegal activity, or posting links to other websites that deal with such activities
  • Posts made under secondary usernames or other aliases
  • Posts which are completely unrelated to the forum in which they are posted
  • Excessive cross-posting (this is considered spam)
  • Posts which breach another member's privacy, i.e. containing phone numbers, addresses or other personal information
  • Information that is overtly negative regarding the Commissioned Corps
Your
contribution will keep this forum running smoothly.
  THANK YOU.
